Yesterday, we shared a photo of the man we observed washing windows. Today, we continue that theme. We were fascinated by the man who masterfully navigated that Biscuitville truck in the Trader Joe's parking lot on North Battleground Avenue. If you notice, there is a Biscuitville store behind the truck. Biscuitville has been going strong in North Carolina since 1966 by Maurice Jennings in Burlington. In its earliest iteration it was a bread and milk store, and then a pizza shop and finally a Biscuitville in Danville, VA. And now, there are over 80 Biscuitville stores in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina.
This family-owned business lost Mr. Jennings, the founder, in 2020. His son, Maurice, Jr. is now CEO of the company. The Biscuitville corporate headquarters is located in Greensboro at 1414 Yanceyville Street. Volvo Trucks of North America is also headquartered in Greensboro. Somehow, it seems so perfect to have that brand new yellow Volvo truck above is specially painted for Biscuitville- a great example of keeping it local. Honk, if you love biscuits!
Happy Wednesday!
