A whole new generation of children in Greensboro learned to play in the snow and make snowmen this past weekend. The glittering, crowned, character above was made by a a family that lives off of Highway 150, near Lake Brandt. We're pretty sure their grandchild got to delight in the making of this snow person. While only about two inches of snow fell in the Greensboro area, people were very creative with their snow characters. We even saw a snow dog complete with a curly tail. Prior to recently, January 2022 was the last time it snowed in Greensboro; so, many children don't even remember seeing snow.
We hope you found a little time to enjoy this recent weather event. It might not be over yet. However, students will return to in-person learning today, leaving all of these snow creatures to continue melting and hoping to come again another winter day. In Guilford County three new schools have opened this month (Brooks Global Studies, Peck K-8 Expeditionary Learning, and Foust Elementary Gaming and Robotics). We're betting those students and staff members were anxious to return to their brand new, state-of-the-art, themed learning centers. Dare we say, they are as beautiful as a new fallen snow. The timing seems perfect for winter themed lessons. Perhaps, some students will cut out snowflakes. Remember those?
