Susan, Jessica, and Mo are the creative force behind Green Apple Garden. Located at 1918 Bradford Street, just off State Street near Vida Pour Tea, Green Apple Garden is the entrepreneurial genius of this mother/daughter team. Their one-story house, formerly a psychologist's office, has been transformed into a greenhouse and creative art studio. The above photo was taken in the winter Garden Room; the other rooms are full of Susan's creative art projects. There are wooden architectural pieces, assembled into sculptures of cows and other critters. Susan turns old picture frames into shadow boxes and fills them with items that tell a magical story. She can take sticks and fabric scraps and turn them into mushrooms in no time. Susan believes there is no one right way to create art, and she loves helping people gain confidence expressing their creativity.
Susan is a retired medical transcriber. Jessica is a receptionist for a veterinarian practice, where she has worked for 20+ years. She relocated to Greensboro from Florida last year, and continues to work remotely for the same veterinarian practice. Both want to create a vibrant space where community, encouragement, and creativity thrive. For the past year, they have been working to meet compliance for the rezoning process. Once this rigorous process is complete, they plan to open as part shop and part hub for bring creative types to gather to make art and hone their artistic skills. Until they open as a shop, Susan will be offering small classes, providing lessons to help people create, and consulting about interior design. She is open to others offering classes and is also accepting consigners of art that fits with her creative aesthetic. Contact Susan at [email protected]
