The above photo is of the Continental Club at 816 South Elm Street, just south of Gate City Boulevard. This historic building is so beautiful not only by day, but also at night. It transforms from a white, plain-looking building to this elegant spark of color. Formerly, the building was the North State Milling Company, and industrial site with hints of a Southern States store. It is the building with the Daily Bread Flour sign on the side. The building dates to the early 20th century, possibly 1912.
The Continental Club, a Greensboro club with a European flair, is known for its ambience and jazz music. It is so fun to drive around Greensboro and see all of the ways old buildings have been repurposed, leaving the exterior of the building with its original, early 20th century flair. The Continental Clue is one of many such places- a great place for a photo shoot. Have a great day as you are preparing for Thanksgiving. Hopefully, you have little time to rest and enjoy friends and family.
Happy Wednesday!
