Earlier in the week, we wrote a piece about Ruth Rachel Roberts (see HERE). Above, is a photo of Ruth Roberts's house at 4235 Ashland Drive. The house was built in 1920 in the Highland Park neighborhood of Greensboro. The above photo of the house a property looks like the exterior hasn't changed much over the last century. For the 1920's, this was a generous sized home, perfect for a husband, wife, and their eight children.
What has changed as the back yard, just beyond the yellow, caution tape and hedges is Wendover Avenue. However, most of the yard is on the side and front of the 1/3 acre property. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the property. Next time we're driving along Wendover Avenue, we're anxious to see the house from the back side. We seem to remember that it used to be decorated for Christmas, which would fit with Ruth's love of Christmas.
Happy Thursday!
