Yesterday, Sheriff Danny H. Rogers and Major N.Z. Wiseman visited the 9-12 Middle College at UNCG, the K-12 high school on UNCG's campus. Sheriff Rogers was a guest speak for the 9th grade civics classes. Sworn in as Sheriff of Guilford County in 2018. Sheriff Rogers is very personable and students enjoyed the question and answer session with him. After spending time with him, it was obvious Sheriff Rogers enjoys interacting with people. For the presentation, he wore pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Major N. Z. Wiseman (on the left) was a highway patrolman for 30 years in North Carolina. Now, he is part of the Support Operations Bureau in Guilford County. Both men have had successful careers in law enforcement, are businessmen, and respected community members. It is nice for students to see the human side of law enforcement. Sheriff Rogers says his job is to "listen to the heartbeat of the community." He is the first black sheriff of Guilford County and he works hard to maintain diversity in his staff. At the end of his presentation, students were thrilled to have the opportunity to get their photo taken with the two guests If you see Sheriff Rogers or Major Wiseman, be sure to thank them for their decades of service to our community..
Happy Wednesday!
