Yesterday, we shared a photo from the event "Live Like Jay" Day at Oden Brewing Company. Today, we're featuring a view of the music that was happening at the event. The musicians were assembled by Tim Litchfield, who works at Burkley Communities. Most of the pickers are members of the Piedmont Old Time Society. Oden Brewing hosts a lot of live music events in this area. The brewery is actually in the pinkish brick building in the background. Oden Brewing is surrounded by three houses in the process of being restored. This photo was taken on the porch of one of them.
Oden Brewing has done so much to perk up the 800 block of West Gate City Boulevard. The Odens are renovating 3 houses on the property. The lot between Oden and Tate Street will have an art venue belonging to UNCG. The Odens are working hard to build community and the event we featured, yesterday and today, is an example of this effort. A big thank you goes out to everyone involved in this event.
