Here was last night's full moon over South Elm Street. The photo was taken from the parking lot of the Continental Club. Tonight, at the Continental Club, at 7:00 pm, is the opening reception for a group of street photographers. Preston Wiles curated the exhibit and installed it last night. The show kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and the show is called "From Dark to Light." If you like black and white photography, you will love this exhibit. Plus, you will have a chance to meet the photographers. As people who have been publishing street photography for 16 years, we always love to meet other photographers committed to telling visual stories. At the exhibit, there are also paintings by local artist Jack Stone. The Continental Club, with its international vibe, is a place that does a nice job of building community through visual arts, music, and libations. In the previous century, the building was the home of The Farmers Exchange Store. From the old wooden floor to the geometric roof, many of the hints of yesteryear remain; however the lighting definitely gives it a 21st century feel.
For those of you celebrating NC A&T's Homecoming, we hope you have a great weekend; stop by and see the art at the Continental Club, listen to a little music, and socialize! It is a great place to network.
Happy Friday!
