Saturday, driving down Battleground Avenue at Midtown, a Summerfest was happening at Jade Salon. We had the opportunity to stop and meet the owners of this hair and beauty salon who were sponsoring the arts, crafts, and wellness festival in their parking lot . Meet Kate Greisser and Annie Gordon. They have been friends since they were kids. Originally from Madison, NC, they attended McMichael High School in Mayodan together. Upon graduation, Kate (in the orange dress) went on to study business and Annie went on to study barbering and cosmetology. With their combined skill sets, they decided to purchase Jade Salon and continue to build on the success and quality service the previous owners had established. From our visit on Saturday, we saw firsthand all of the extra details Kate and Annie provide their clients. From the minute you walk in the salon, you feel like you are among friends and at a home away from home. The atmosphere cheerful and the whole staff is friendly.
The original Jade Salon is located in Friendly Center, across from Ben and Jerry's and beside Lulu Lemon. It has been there for 18 years. The second location is located at 1209 Battleground Avenue, on the same side of the road as Red Cinema (a little bit closer to town). See here if you are interested in learning more about Jade Salon or booking an appointment. It is always a good day when we get to meet people in Greensboro and to know local proprietors who work so hard to bring joy to others. We left smiling- even after having done yard work all day.
Happy Monday!
