LeBauer Park is such a community resource in downtown Greensboro. There are people using it, informally and attending scheduled events, on a daily basis. See for yourself on the calendar HERE. Be sure to head down this Friday for First Friday. First Fridays in the summer in LeBauer Park are simply the best. The Janet Echelman sculpture hovering above the park glows at night when illuminated. We took this photo at about 10:00 pm, Saturday night (after the performance we featured yesterday). It was one of the few times the park was empty. The view was serene.
LeBauer Park, designed by the architect Frank Harmon, is on 4.5 acres and was completed in August 2016. It will serve our community well for decades to come. Starting at 5:00 pm this evening there is an art event, Zumba, and music for a little hump day fun. Remember, Greensboro, the more we use our community resources, the more they will offer. The original plan for the park has come to fruition; that is be a well-used, multi-purpose, urban green space. Indeed, it is.
Happy Wednesday!
