Thursday evenings in Downtown Greensboro are hopping in the summer. The above photo features two of many events happening in LeBauer Park. The people with their arms up are participating in yoga with Embodhi Yoga Studios hosting their Slow Burn Yoga at 6:00 p.m. The pace is slow and they work on alignment and balance. Closer to the camera is a group of late elementary/early middle school students playing football. Not seen is a group of bicyclists getting ready for their 6:30 community ride. Both food stands in the park were hopping with some people ordering beer and others ice cream cones. There was something for everybody. Just around the block, the Flatiron had live music.
Mid-town Greensboro, between the parks to about the 300 block of South Elm Street, gets a little quiet; and then, on South Elm, foot traffic picks back up. Last night was a warm summer evening and the sun did not set until 8:38 pm made the evening conducive to spending time outside. There will be plenty to do downtown tonight, and the Juneteenth Food Truck Festival in LeBauer Park will take place from 5:00- 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hello summer
Happy Friday!
