Today, we wanted to share another view of the back side of the former News & Record building. This close-up shows the extensive metal that was used in the building. We would love to see Jim Gallucci make a sculpture out of some of this rubble. Does anyone know about the green metal doors, seen above? They are intriguing; as are all of the gears, which likely had something to do with printing presses In this closeup, you can see former offices. Also, on the right, you see one of several I-beams. This is a lot of history of a bygone era.
We've got to find a way to read local news and get people writing it. Triad City Beat, Yes Weekly, and the Carolina Peacemaker are three of our lifelines now. As of 2018, Rhino Times ceases publication. The printing of the News & Record moved to Winston-Salem in 2017. Please continue to read it and send in letters, editorials, and articles for print. It is so important for us to hear from people in our community. How do you get your local news?
