Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society. It is a Catholic men's group with the purpose of serving and doing charitable deeds. The organization dates back to 1882 and today, boasts nearly 2 million men worldwide. There are different councils in Greensboro. St. Mary's council is located at 1414 Gorrell Street. There is a council at St. Pius X. There are more Knight of Columbus groups in Greensboro, dating back to 1904. There used to be a clubhouse on Horse Pen Creek. It is no longer there.
The above omit if the Piedmont Council stone was taken in 2018, over six years ago. Traditionally, the Knights of Columbus have held a wreath laying ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Memorial Day.
