The Tina Turner Musical is in town at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. If opening night was any indication, performances will be nearly sold out, if not completely sold out. It tells of how Tina overcame so many obstacles to rise to the top. All of the acting, singing, and dancing is strong. Ari Groover is a fabulous Tina Turner. Symphony King played young Tina Turner and wowed the audience with her voice and charisma. Ari and Symphony are both performers with amazing careers ahead of them. The above photo features the curtain at Tanger and the people with seats in front of the front row. The live orchestra was actually on stage during the performance, so the orchestra seats are available.
In addition to good singing and dancing, Tina's backstory let the audience get to know who Tina was not only on stage, but also who she was as a person. Greensboro is so lucky to have Tanger and to be able to see top quality shows without needing to drive elsewhere. Try to see "Tina" is you can. Also, next season's Broadway line up at Tanger has just been announced: Back to the Future; MJ, the Michael Jackson Story; Hamilton; Some like it Hot; Mamma Mia; The Neil Diamond Musical A Beautiful Noise; and Juliette.
Happy Wednesday!
Quite a facility to have.
