Yesterday was such a lovely day in Greensboro. The sun was shining, but it wasn't too warm. The above photo is a scene in northwest Greensboro, along Carlson Dairy Road. You can see the grass is that early spring green, the skies were blue and the white blossoms were at peak, already starting to flutter to the ground. If you want to see the early stages of nature, you need to be driving around neighborhoods right now. Also, this past weekend, people were commenting that the reenactment of the Revolutionary War brought out lots of people. The warm weather helped boost attendance of people reenacting and spectators. What a way to get as close to history 200+ years ago. It was also St. Patrick's Day, but that usually results in not only green clothing but lots of green beverages.
If you want to keep up with what is blooming when, and you don't have a master gardener in your life, see this bloom calendar from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation. Tomorrow is the first official day of spring.
Happy Monday! Happy Last Day of Winter!
