This single family home in Sunset Hills was built in 1932. It has so many features that anchor it in this part of North Carolina. First the stone exterior looks like it may be Mt. Airy granite. Then there is the stonemasonry. We're wondering if it is was built by stonemason Andrew Leopold Schlosser. He would have been working in Greensboro during the time this house was built. Also, the green roof tiles are possibly Pomona Terra Cotta Manufacturing Company, with a factory down the road, just off of West Market Street. Finally, that cozy front porch exudes southern hospitality.
This home got new owners last year and, based on the NC State flag on the front porch, we conclude they are North Carolina State fans. If you live in Greensboro, or North Carolina in general, you know what a basketball state we are. The NC State Basketball Teams, men's and women's are advancing to the Sweet 16. We're betting there will be some neighborhood parties in this house if NC State continues to advance. The Sunset Hills neighborhood is known for celebrating together. But during basketball season, even the friendliest of neighbors get a little competitive.
Happy Tuesday!
A beautiful place.
