College Park Church is located at the corner of Tate and Spring Garden Streets. According to the cornerstone, it was erected in 1919. It is well aware of its location just east of UNCG's campus and just southwest of the Greensboro College campus, in College Hill. The church works hard at being a community resource. As one example, the food pantry is open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00- 9:00 pm. As stated on their website, they believe in putting faith into action. On Sunday, March 24th at 12:15 pm, just after Sunday service, they will host a Community Children's Easter Egg hunt in Springdale Park. Springdale is the park across the street at the corner of Springdale and Spring Garden Street. It is a diverse and welcoming congregation, open to people from all walks of life.
We drive by this church all the time, but are embarrassed to say that we have never been inside. We can tell the stained glass windows are beautiful. It must be transporting to hear a choir sing, bathed in the light from those windows. If you are interested, read more about their staff, here. If you want to help, we're betting they would appreciate food for the community food pantry, or books for their Little Free Library.
Happy Sunday!
Quite a distinctive looking church.
