Driving down Battleground Avenue yesterday, we did an about face and pulled into the Office Depot Parking lot to investigate the new construction at 2412 Battleground Avenue. This property has been many things over the years. This address needs a personal archivist to document all of the iterations of the space. Our earliest recollection is that 2412 Battleground was a bank. Then, in 2003, Bardy's Jewelry left Friendly Center to relocate here. After Bardy's, about 4 years later, Mythos Grill moved into the space. Mythos was at 2412 Battleground for about 13 years, before moving to across Battleground near Biscuitville in 2020. According to the Business Journals (8/4/2023), the above structure will become the new State Street Jewelers. The owners of State Street Jewelers, Michael and Amanda Wilson have owned the property since 2021 as their business is outgrowing their currently location (reference). Now we're wondering what will move into their location on State Street. As for 2412 Battleground, let's hope it is a booming success for State Street Jewelers. It is interesting that they completely tore down the old building and, as you can see, they are building from the ground up. We can't wait to see what the new store looks like inside (and outside, too).
Happy Wednesday!
That's a lot of different uses.
