For many, Christmas is long gone. For some, today is a big holiday, Epiphany or Three Kings Day, the day the Magi arrived in Bethlehem to visit Jesus. For children, it is the day the Wise Men also arrive to deliver gifts to those who have been good all year. Last night, children put out shoe boxes or shoes filled with hay for the camels. This morning, children awaken to gifts and merriment. According to Data USA, 24,900 people in Greensboro are Hispanic, which is almost 10% of the population. Many people in this demographic will be celebrating Three Kings Day.
The above photo features the Nativity display at Centenary United Methodist Church, located at 2300 West Friendly Avenue. The vibrant colors really stand out on a sunny day late afternoon. Greensboro College also puts up a Nativity scene.
We hope you are safe and warm!
Happy Saturday!
