Every time we walk on State Street, it evokes a feeling of beach communities. With many new businesses opening in the 400 block, young adults, especially those with small children, are spending time on State Street. Eclectic by Nature and Vida pour Tea are two businesses that have helped with this rejuvenation of the street. Now, there is a bicycle shop, a coffee shop, a children's consignment store, a bookstore, and more. The above photo features, Sweet Tea Studio, which is in the building that formerly housed the Saltbox.* If you peek to the left, you see the Sustainability Yours, a mobile boutique that pops up at many special events.
Saturday's event involved the coordination of all the local business owners on State Street. When merchants work together, great things can happen. Tomorrow is First Friday in downtown Greensboro. You will have another event to fill your evening with people, art, good food, and entertainment. Oh, and get ready for all of the NC A&T homecoming festivities.
Happy Thursday!
*(We still miss the large candles, seasonal decorations, and the handmade lighting that made the Saltbox so special).
It sounds like a busy area.
