The long-awaited Starbucks is now open downtown. It is located across from the Bryan Y in the former location of Hardee's at 101 N. Edgeworth Street. We first learned of this plan last year when it was reported on Fox 8. Hardee's had been looking very empty for years and then during Covid, it closed. This corner on the western edge of downtown was looking very lonely and now is a hub of activity. While we all love our local coffee shops, the appeal of Starbucks is that it is the only downtown coffee shop with a drive-through window. Plus, many people have their go-to designer drinks crafted at Starbucks. With all of the growth in the north and northwestern parts of downtown, this store is sure to be a hit. Most of the other coffee shops are along Elm Street.
The .85 acre parcel of land does not have an overabundance of parking. However, between that generous patio and indoor seating, people walking and on bicycles will find it very convenient. Somehow, the word is out. While we were there, it was quite busy.
Happy Thursday!
