Shish House is located at 4929 West Market Street, in the same plaza where you can find the international grocery store, Super G Mart. Shish House is a restaurant that served Middle Eastern food. The person who waited on us the night we were there indicated that the management was Yemeni. We happened to visit on a Friday night, during the time Muslims are at the mosque. However, once prayers were over, the restaurant fills and becomes lively. As you can see from the seating, there is plenty of room for large parties. Meat is halal certified and very tasty. We especially enjoyed the shish kabob shrimp.
It is fun to try new restaurants. Greensboro is so much more diverse than many people realize. The atmosphere and decor here definitely have a middle-eastern flair. They have generous portions and also offer family platters. They are open daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. We suggest stopping by when it is a little busier to really get a better understanding of how much middle eastern families value community and family time.
Happy Thursday!
