The brew pub scene has burgeoned in Greensboro since Natty Greene opened in 2004. They are places where people go to take their families and spend a fun afternoon enjoying friends, a few brews, and often live music. The above photo is of Greensboro native, Ernest Thompson, who performed at one of the open mic sessions at Oden Brewing this summer. While Ernest now lives in Charleston, South Carolina, he returns to Greensboro every chance he gets. Recently, he recorded an album, "The Words I Heard," on which he shares original songs, sings, and plays a wide variety of instruments. His song lyrics recount his experiences with people he's met along the way and range from blues to country to indie.
Today (August 4, 2023), his songs get released to Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, Amazon, Tik Tok, Deezer... pretty much every major music platform! Have a listen and support Ernest, and all local musicians in any way you can. A big thank you goes out to places like Oden Brewing that provide a place for singer-songwriters to ge their music heard!
Good shot.
