The other day, en route to photograph Irving Park Elementary School for its 100th Anniversary, we stopped upon seeing this brick wall at the corner Cornwallis Drive and Hamilton Road. It may be a little hard to tell, but the owners of this property actually had the bricklayers leave a space for the roots of this mature tree. What a "go green" practice!
Greensboro is known for its greenery, coming by its name honestly. It is up to each and every one of us to do our part to help keep Greensboro green. As our community continues to grow, we may need to get a bit stingy with our green acreage. In the meantime, all of us can be like the owners of the property above. It is possible for trees to co-exist with city lots. It does take a little planning.
We hope you have a happy mid-week. Also, if you know the owners of the above lot, thank them for us- or, direct them to this short post!
That is neat.
