Especially in summer, it is fun to take country drives. The above scene was one we saw driving north of Greensboro off of Highway 158 on Spotswood Road in Summerfield. There are a lot of shops in that area that cater to a rural way of life (Gilley's small engine service for lawn mowers, Hardin's Feed and Farm Supply, M&M Tire and Automotive, to name a few). Likely, you will never have noticed these places as you zipped along Highway 220 or 158 had you not needed them. In addition to repairs, Gentry's, featured above, is also a wrecker service.
Gentry's is off the beaten bath, right in the heart of a neighborhood; a place where everyone keeps their lawns cut, drives an American car, knows their neighbors' names, and realizes when people like us (not from around here) are driving through the neighborhood. Of course the people who live there, ever hospitable southerners, will offer to help if you need it, and be a little curious is you are out taking photos. It is the kind of community where people look our for each other. We're wondering for how many generations Gentry's has been there.
Looks like the sort that becomes an institution.
