Brassfield first opened in 1987, buthad been struggling for a few years. Phar-Mor Drug Store and Pizza Hut closed, as did the movie theater. However, things have been turning around quickly. Trader Joe's moved in and Biscuitville built in the Pizza Hut location. Chick-Fil-A relocated across the street, but Habit Burger is moving into Chick-Fil-A's former location. Now, as you can see from the above photo, the Lowe's Outlet is close to opening. It will be one of ten scratch-and-dent outlets for the home improvement store (read HERE). No scratch-and-dent products are sold online, which makes sense. There will be no surprises when appliances arrive at one's house. It will be interesting to see what else they end up selling. Gabriel Brothers, started out as a store of seconds clothing, but by the time they were rebranded as Gabe's in 2013, they were selling overstocks and so much more than the seconds of the early years. Likely, Lowe's Outlet will have many great deals. Greensboro is about to find out!
The Lowe's corporate headquarters is located in Mooresville, NC. While this Brassfield location, soon to be their tenth outlet store, it is their first in North Carolina. The urban loop makes north Battleground easily accessible and appealing to customers and retailers. Someone needs to work on branding the area. For now, we're going to call it NoBa (North Battleground). So, you heard it first on Greensboro Daily Photo. Mid-town has lights and murals. Do you have suggestions for business owners in NoBo to make the area cohesive and distinguish it from Mid-town?

Think we need another Costco in Greensboro and Brassfield area would be ideal. Bringing in people to the area to shop and future jobs in this area in near future, with the interstate making it easily accessible, makes me wonder if there is an opportunity for a Costco in this area!
