The Scott D. Kaplan Chabad Community Center is located at 5203 West Friendly Avenue. The structure, originally built as a single family house in 1939, is on one acre. It sits back from the highway and the front yard is well manicured and peaceful. From what we can gather online, this community center was established to serve the needs of the Greensboro Jewry. From activities related to the high holy days to daily study opportunities, they seem to remain busy. In addition to the house, there is a large event tent on the property. Chabad Rabbi Plotkin, who hails from Montreal, Canada, is the spiritual leader of this center. Education is the cornerstone of Rabbi Plotkin's mission (reference and more HERE). Formerly, he taught at the American Hebrew Academy. Also, he teaches classes to those who want to learn more about the Talmudic way.
Chabad Hasidic philosophy focuses on religious and spiritual concepts from a Jewish perspective. The Jewish community of Greensboro has contributed in so many ways to our city's history and resources. It is nice to have an organization committed to outreach, educational studies, philanthropy, and spirituality for our dynamic, Jewish community members.
Happy Sunday; while not the Sabbath for the Jewish community, traditionally the day we post something spiritual. For our readers affiliated with Chabad, we invite you to educate us!
A lovely property
