The above photo featured a few of the bike riders on a Saturday morning ride on Huffine Mill Road in east Greensboro. We were at a stoplight off of the bypass and the Huffine Mill Road exit. The weather was sunny and it hadn't gotten too hot yet. Whether you like street riding, greenway riding, or off-road and mountain riding, there is a group for you in Greensboro. Increasingly, our city streets are getting bike lanes. Still, both cyclists and car and truck drivers must all work together to drive defensively. There is safety in numbers, as group rides increase cyclists' visibility on the road. Always communicate with the cars around you.
Speaking of group rides, if you like them, The Apple Pie Ride will be on the Fourth of July. This year it will start at Bur-Mill and will feature some new routes. There are also different distances to accommodate different skill levels. There are 13, 25, 50, and 76 mile options. On this ride, everyone is encouraged to cheer for each other. There are always so many enjoying the Apple Pie bike riding event. We hope to see you out on the trails, between then and now.
Happy Monday!
A good day to get out and about.
