This is a slice of the mural on the northern wall of the Brenner Children's Museum in downtown Greensboro. It is on the East Lindsay Street side, at the corner of Church Street. It was painted in 2010 by Kathleen Kennedy. If you haven't walked and admired the mural over the last 13 years, you owe it to yourself to do so. It evokes the word cloud poetry that was popular a couple of decades ago. We love the fact that the word "Greensboro" appears prominently.
The plaque at the edge of the wall says, "This mural celebrates Guilford College's contribution to communities locally, nationally, and globally" from the Center for Principled Problem Solving Engage. Inspire. Learn. It is a really good wall for a photo shoot. It is a corner that doesn't get a lot of traffic. We were reacquainted with it a few weeks ago when we walked from the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market on Yanceyville to downtown Greensboro. Walking downtown in Greensboro is fun, early on a weekend morning when there aren't many cars out. That is also a great time to bike. It is amazing what you will notice, being out in public, when not in a vehicle.
Happy Wednesday! Happy last day of May!
Beautiful work!
