Can you believe it it May 1st? The above photo was taken yesterday on the campus of Guilford College. The location is behind Founders Hall, at the bookstore and dining hall. Students were leaving the dining hall and walking to prepare for the last week before exams begin. We wanted to take a photo before students left for the summer. Commencement is May 15th. Then, Eastern Music Festival begins on June 24th, leaving about a month of "quiet time" between the end of the academic year and the arrival of the musicians.
We don't know when, why, or how these rocks landed behind the cafeteria, but they are the perfect size and shape to uses as seats. The Guilford College campus is 349 wooded acres, filled with woods, a pond, oak trees, sports fields, open fields, and more. It is an absolutely lovely campus and it is a nice place to walk and reflect- especially at sunrise and sunset when the low light is stretched through the mature trees. Truly, this campus is one of Greensboro's treasures. Here's to a great week and a fabulous end of the semester for students.
Happy Monday! Happy May! Are there any places in Greensboro that still dance around a Maypole on May 1st?
Campuses here have finished up exams and are transitioning to summer classes, which tend to be lighter.
