Winter months are the months somewhat devoid of color. The other three seasons in Greensboro are so vibrant and showy, winter is noticeably gray and plain. The above photo was taken yesterday in northwest Greensboro when fog was still lingering. It was heavy, affected visibility, and persisted until the afternoon, when the sun finally came out. This week, temperatures will range from the 30s to the 60s here, so it won't be that cold. Last year on this day, it was about 20 degrees colder in Greensboro. The above photo is actually a color photo. If you look closely, you can see green grass in the foreground and the taller, yellow-brown grass. The scene is calm and serene with emphasis on the bare tree branches. We've concluded January in Greensboro is the visual version of palate-cleansing- a neutral break between intensely colorful times.
Fog is predicted for today, also. Be careful out there, and do something to enjoy the mild air, if you can.
Happy Tuesday!
A beautiful mood for this one.
