Biscuitville on North Battleground has been open since June 2021. It opened on the site where there was formerly a Pizza Hut. In the parking lot, the building really stands out on a sunny day with dramatic clouds as a background. This family-owned business was founded in Burlington, North Carolina in 1966. Maurice Jennings started with his family's recipe and one store in Danville, VA. Now there are 65 stores and the business keeps expanding. From time they launch new sandwiches (like a fried bologna biscuit). The latest product is a skinny biscuit that is thinner for those who like the taste but don't want the biscuit to overpower the sandwich. They make their biscuits from scratch and with local ingredients. Founder, Mr. Jennings actually got his start as a flour broker, then selling pizza, but focused on biscuits as a way to be busier in the mornings.* The corporate office is on Yanceyville Street in Greensboro. Greensboro central location in North Carolina and along the eastern part of the United States makes it a perfect location for businesses.
We imagine having this location helps alleviate the congestion of the business on Battleground Avenue near the back entrance to Target. If you have a child in your life who has never seen a biscuit being made, it is fun to take them inside to the window where you see them being made. The people making biscuits have a way of always smiling when they make eye contact. Customer service contributes significantly to making a business successful.
Happy Thursday! (Are you craving a biscuit yet? We're heading out for a skinny!).
