Today is the third Sunday of Advent, Mary and Joseph are on their journey, looking for lodging. Themes for church services this week will likely revolve around John the Baptist, angels, joy, and Mary. Above is part of the scene of The Nativity Scene on the front lawn of Greensboro College. The first figures were created in 1936. In 2007, they were vandalized. In 2011, the shepherd was stolen. Fortunately, in 2022, the figures have been replaced and the display is intact. It is special to see the whole display during the day, and also the lighted scene at night. If it snows this December, that will be the best view of all. The scene will be up at least through December. This tradition that started 86 years ago is pretty special.
If you notice in the back top left corner, the JP/LFG building anchors the photo in Greensboro.
One more week until Christmas. For those celebrating Chanukah (the Feast of Dedication), it starts tomorrow!
Happy Sunday!
Nice photo; however, for most folks, today is the fourth Sunday of Advent.
