Yesterday was such a lovely fall day in Greensboro. Heading to the Old Mill of Guilford, we stopped by Ai Church to check on any updates since we last featured it in 2016. As serendipity would have it, doors were open and wedding planners were inside preparing for a wedding. The gentleman above approached us and we asked if he was the preacher. As it turns out, he was the groom, Jack Hoskins, waiting for his bride, Hannah Messick, to arrive. The ceremony would begin in about an hour and a half. Ai Church, in its simplicity, is the perfect venue for a wedding. It is small and intimate and very plain inside. The white walls are tongue and groove and appear to be original. The church is located at the corner of Alcorn Road and Highway 68. Here is a photo from 2016 , one from 2014, a photo from 2011 . Here is a photo from 2009.
Both the bride and groom are from High Point. We have a mutual friend of the bride and hope to have the chance to meet the couple. In the meantime, Congratulations, Jack and Hannah. Also, congratulations to the people of Oak Ridge and Colfax who worked over the years to restore Ai Church.
Happy Sunday!
A good portrait.
