Wednesday's double rainbow over east Greensboro was nothing short of spectacular. For some reason, it was harder to photograph than most rainbows- especially with a camera phone. However, seeing that perfect, vibrant, half circle was memorable. We did a little rainbow chasing and got the idea to capture it over Irving Park Elementary School (IPES) , since we were nearby and this was just the first week of the school year. Also, we featured Ms. Japp yesterday, who recently retired after twenty years of teaching there.
Irving Park Elementary was established in 1923, so it is about to turn 100! While many of our schools have directional names or are named after people, IPES is named after the neighborhood where it is located. This is the Cornwallis side of the school and located on the western end of the Irving Park neighborhood. IPES is one of 71 elementary schools in Guilford County. May all of the teachers and students have a great school year- in Irving Park, in Greensboro, in Guilford County, and everywhere!
Happy Labor Day weekend, the only holiday in September.
Beautiful!
