This book of Common Prayer from The Church of England is on display at The Battlefield Visitors Center at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park. The park and center are dedicated to the history surrounding the Battle of Guilford Courthouse during the Revolutionary War on March 15, 1781. The facility and park are located at 2332 New Garden Road. The center is open 9:00 am- 5:00 pm seven days a week. The rangers there are so helpful and seem to love it when people stop in to ask them questions. During this battle, even though soldiers represented different countries, wore different uniforms, and represented different religions, they were all praying to the same God. There isn't much related to religion at the Battle Visitors Center, but the rangers have stories of interest. They told us that the Quakers took in the wounded of all religions and made every effort to nurse them back. That is a memorable story.
We hope you have a happy Sunday and that you get out to the Battlefield Visitors Center. We especially love the big picture window that takes on a different character with every season. It is such a special place that is makes one prayerful, regardless of religion.
Well taken.
