Greensboro has two treasures you may not know about. One is the New York Times best-selling author, Kendra Adachi, living right here among us. The second is a meeting room on the northeast corner of the Greensboro Farmers Market on Yanceyville Street. This past Saturday, we got to hear Kendra speak in that very room. She was there to talk about her new book, "Lazy Genius Kitchen" and to offer rapid-fire, lazy-genius answers to the public's kitchen quandaries. About as fast as audience members could ask questions, Kendra processed the question, asked a follow up question- usually about priority/end goal- and gave a three-option answer that in some way tied to her lazy genius way. She is articulate, speaks with ease, is authentic, sincere, and extremely personable. When Kendra it talking to a group about organizing and making decisions about the home, it is as if you are in her living room at book club.
You can google her name and "lazy genius" and her her advice and watch her podcasts. With two books under her belt and an impressive social media presence, she is thinking long and hard about the direction she wants for her career. To be sure, she wants her professional life to align with her personal life with her husband and children. One thing she does have planned is a subscription-based, online community group. Kendra plans to launch it in September. We wish you all the best, Kendra, and are so glad that you love calling Greensboro home. You make us so proud and we appreciate your approach to organization. It will be fun to follow your career.
