The theatre at Well- Spring Retirement Community on Drawbridge Parkway is a gem of a local resource and it is open to the public. Currently, they are featuring "Denim King" a musical telling the Moses Cone Story and the Cone family at the end of the 19th century/beginning of the 20th century. The play addresses the beginning of the denim industry in Greensboro and tells so much about the Cone family and the history of the mills in Greensboro. Everyone with strong connections to Greensboro needs to see this play. It would be wonderful for the play to be performed every year in Greensboro.
The play is very well produced and the acting and live music are superb. The above photo features- from left to right- Herman Cone (Mark Kaley), Moses Cone (Olin Davidson), and Ceasar Cone (Caleb Warren). The play continues today (2:00 p.m.) and Sunday (2:00 p.m.). Hope you get to see it. Tickets are available HERE.
That is a good way to spend some time
