This photo reminds us of a line from Mary Poppins: "Winds in the east, mist coming in". This photo was taken from a third floor window at Elsewhere Living Museum in the 600 block of south Elm Street. It seems that Greensboro is such a street-level city. There aren't many opportunities to be high off the ground viewing the skyline. The parking decks are about your best bet. As for our iconic Lincoln Financial Group building, still the tallest building in Greensboro, we're betting it has a lovely view, but very restricted access. It is our dream to someday get to have a look. As for today's view, these rooftops look like they've been recently refinished and not with the tar of yesteryear. A flat roof can be prone to leak, but these appear to be in good shape. Just like the roof of Elsewhere, these have had skylights added. Skylights make a tremendous difference to what can otherwise be a dark upper level. As you look across to the west, you can see the faint outline of the bridge at Eugene Street. Do you have a place in town where you go for a bird's eye view?
Here is a list of the tallest buildings in Greensboro. It would make for some good trivia night fun! Have a happy Wednesday!
A beautiful sky view.
