Today's photo is of the Moravia Moravian Church at 2920 Oak Ridge Road, between Oak Ridge and Kernersville. The above building was constructed in 1964, but the history of the church in this location dates back to the late 1800s thanks to Jennie Donnell. She became a Moravian after marrying Robah Kerner, and Donnell was instrumental in getting a Sunday school established in the area.* The first full-time pastor was J. Taylor Loflin who assumed the position in 1952. Carol Foltz is the pastor now.
During the Lenten Season, the church holds a Lenten meditation on Wednesday's at 6:30. The front of the building is a stand-out with that sharply pitched roof. Also, you will notice there is a cross and a Moravian star, both very important symbols in the religion. If you are interested in attending, they are a welcoming congregation. Sunday school is at 9:45 am and worship is at 11:00 am. Happy Sunday!

It very much reminds me of some churches I am familiar with here.
