Internationally recognized journalist and scholar on Russian-U.S. relations, Julia Ioffe spoke as part of the Guilford College Bryan Series® last night. She filled in for Chef José Andrés who is doing relief work with his organization, World Central Kitchen, in Ukraine. Giving her area of expertise, bringing Ioffe as a replacement couldn't have been more timely. She led the audience from her early years in Moscow as an elementary school student and Little Octoberist during the Soviet era. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was seven, bringing a multifaceted understanding to Russian-U.S. relations.
We are so lucky in Greensboro and Guilford County to have so many institutions of higher education. We have access to great speakers and entertainers. On a slightly less serious note, Steve Martin will be at the Tanger Center on May 10th as part of the Bryan Series. The Bryan Series will announce their speakers for next season on May 10th. If you want season tickets, you should act quickly. The auditorium is pretty full!
Fascinating and timely.
