Part of the fun of being at the Food Truck Festival downtown on Sunday was seeing all of the people. It was also special seeing streets lined with families. Governmental Plaza was busy and provided lots of shade on an otherwise blistering day. Governmental Plaza can feel so "heavy" when people have to go appear in court, serve on jury duty, get their taxes settled, etc. Business, business, business. However on Sunday, the plaza area, extending from Market and Eugene Streets to Greene and Washington Street came alive with people enjoying each other. The above photo was taken on the southeast corner of the plaza, near the parking deck. Children were playing and enjoying the bounce park.
As you can see, the trees are starting to leaf out. Temperatures will be in the 80s today so it will really feel like summer. Let's hope the city can keep up the momentum and do even more to entice people to spend time downtown.
Happy Tuesday!
A good shot.
