Happy Friday, time for the weekend. Do you have plans? The above photo was taken yesterday on East Wendover Avenue, Between the Church Street and Yanceyville exits. After the fierce rain and wind during the day, the late afternoon proved to clear up and the skies were blue. The clouds were so beautiful by the end of the day and the air felt so fresh and clean. If you have a chance, this weekend, take a drive along East Wendover. If you haven't been in a while, you won't recognize it. The latest addition we noticed yesterday was the 7-11 right by the 840 Urban Loop.
We like to drive all the way to Burlington, just to see life along Highway 70. We had a friend who lived on Elwell Avenue, and she would always say that we would know her street because it was the "last light on Wendover." Well, just how far do you have to drive before determining that you have passed "the last light"? The truth is, it is a good way east on the road before another light pops up. So, Elwell remains the crossover street with "the last light". It is funny what we remember about places and people and long drives, walks, and bike rides have a way of allowing those memories to surface. Happy weekend. What sayings do you remember your friends saying about Greensboro? Please share!
Happy April fools Day!
I like the look of that sky.

I am pleased you remember the Elwell story. I laugh every time I think of it.
