717 Percy Street is the house we featured recently with the Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG). Someone mentioned the lovely bottle tree at this home, so we thought we would feature it today, in the off chance that you will be able to drive by today en route to the Greensboro Curb Market on Yanceyville. The above house on Percy Street was built in 1934. It last sold in 2016 and the current owners have been loving it for the last six years. In addition to the FLAG, they've added the rainbow colors to the front of the porch. Additionally, they added the bottle tree to the left. Many of these metal trees you see around Greensboro were made by Howard Beamus at Hughes Metal Works with the profits benefitting non-profits, such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The bottle trees add so much to any yard and they are a visible sign of art that helps the community.
If you don't get by Percy Street this weekend, or the Greensboro Curb Market, please head somewhere to see the beauty of how the people of Greensboro do things in their yard for the good of a local cause. Thank you 717 Percy St. for all you do to promote the arts!
Happy Saturday; happy exploring!
This is a lovely building.
