Happy Sunday, Greensboro Daily Photo readers! For some, today is the Sabbath and a day of rest. Even for those cho aren't Christian, often Sunday is a slower paced day. There is less traffic on the street. Some businesses are closed. It is a time to reflect on the past week, or the week ahead. The above photo reminds us of what meditation is like if we described it with pictures, as opposed to words. We love to walk near golf courses because they are vast open spaces. Such is the case with the Farm Course for the Greensboro Country Club, which has been a golf course since it was transformed by Ellis Maples in 1961. In 2009, the course was updated by Donald Steel. It is the longest course in Guilford County and one of the longest in North Carolina.* One need only to look at the above photo to realize just how beautiful the views are around the course, even from the street.
If you have a chance today, head outdoors and take a walk. Bundle up as the high will only reach about 49ºF in Greensboro. By afternoon, the rains will stop and puddles on wet streets always make for interesting photos. Puddles can reflect the sky almost as nicely as this water feature on the golf course. Any day and any place, and especially on Sundays in Greensboro, nothing is more peaceful than a walk around an open field.
We are on the back end of winter here and trees and bulbs in the ground are already hinting that spring is right around the corner.

A beautiful view.
