This past weekend, Unity Church held their Christmas Festival in Center City Park on December 8th from 12:30- 4:30. It was well attended and fun was had by all who participated. Usually, Unity Church meets at the Church of the Covenant- 501 South Market Street. Unity follows the teachings of Jesus and, according to their website, "Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual's right to choose a spiritual path." Unity was founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in 1889. Unity Church has evolved over the years and is now quite accepting of people who are spiritual, but not religious. Individual Unity Churches are autonomous and can vary from congregation to congregation.
Greensboro's Unity congregation is very accepting of people of all walks of life and they are involved in the local community. Everyone was welcome to the above event in Center City Park. While they usually meet at the Church of the Covenant building, their outdoor events are always very powerful. If you attend today, you will hear the lovely voice of Nitia Steward, one of their special musicians .
Good shot.
