Last night was Third Thursday so the Piedmont Old Time Society held their bi-weekly jam at the Green Bean Coffee Shop in downtown Greensboro. The Green Bean very graciously stays open late just so the group can jam. It is also a nice opportunity to listen for those who wander in. We were enjoying a turmeric ginger latte with hazelnut milk and noticed that tomorrow morning, from 10am-1pm, there will be a pop up craft show at the Green Bean (Saturday, December 18th). At least a dozen artisans will be at this holiday pop up so you will have an opportunity to support a local coffee shop and local venders all in one place.
After leaving the coffee shop, we drove around Greensboro as it is so pretty this time of year. South Elm has added a lot of extra decorations. Of course we had to drive through Sunset Hills again to see the lights, and then over to see the Santa of Chapman Street house. While we were at it, we stopped in front of the First Moravian Church on Elam, which looks so peaceful at night, rather palate cleansing to see the single candles in the windows, a wreath on the side door, and a Moravian star leading to the sanctuary. The Blind Tiger had live music, as did the Tanger Center. Driving home, with the memory of string band music, and all of the Christmas lights suspended in the trees, indeed, it was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Please take a night drive if you haven't yet. For those who are counting, Christmas Eve is next Friday.
It looks busy inside.
