Yesterday's weather and sky evokes an Ann of Green Gables (Lucy Maud Montgomery) quote. "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." In October, the air takes on a crispness unique to this time of year. The sky yesterday was full of clouds that usually only seem this voluminous when one is high in the sky in an airplane. The October air is clear and the summer constellations are still visible. If you want to learn more about October stargazing, on October 23rd, there is a field course offered at Gransfather Mountain (see details, here). Grandfather is about 2 1/3 hours due east from Greensboro.
The above photo was taken on Carlson Dairy Road, almost at Pleasant Ridge. This farm on the right is so charming and reminds us of the rural look that used to dominate this area. The sun will set tonight just about 7pm. If you can find an open space with an unobstructed view of the sky it might be fun to go watch. There will be some rain tonight, but rainy skies can be beautiful, too. Yesterday's clouds have just been waiting to drop this water. It would be a good week to aerate your lawn Happy Tuesday!
A lovely sky view.
