The above four artists featured their artwork this past weekend in the Scout Hut on the property of Irving Park Elementary School on the edge of Kirkwood and Irving Park. They are, from left to right, Janet Berry, Renee Swink, Rosalind Stanford-McCarty, and Mary Schiavone. Mary works mainly in acrylics and the other three mainly in oil. All four are painters and their paintings are very reasonably priced and would be a lovely addition to any home.
Janet's husband Bob is one of the organizers and publicists for the show. Carolyn Owen founded Artstock in the 1996 as a way for artists to have a way to show and sell their art. She died in 2018, but fortunately Artstock continues.* The tour is free and open to the public. Artists pay a nominal fee to participate and do not have to pay commissions on their sales. If you missed ArtStock this year, you can contact the artists directly (see below). You would have plenty to choose from if you needed a painting for your home or to feature in your business. We don't know the other artists well, but we featured Renee, here, on Greensboro Daily Photo in 2015. Her art continues to delight us; and the art of her colleagues is very nice, too. See Renee's art at her website. Contact Janet at [email protected], Rosalind at [email protected], and Mary at [email protected]
The Scout Hut is a perfect venue for showing art. Four to six artists fit in there easily and this cute little building is so conveniently located at the corner of Dellwood Drive and Cornwallis Drive. Happy Monday, everyone!
