What better way for a church to get started up than to rent a space in an older strip mall. Today's church, Iglesia Ilim Greensboro, is located at 2319 Randleman Road. The church is just south of downtown Greensboro and while it was pretty quiet on Saturday afternoon, you can be sure that it will be filled with people on Sunday morning. The sign at the corner translates to say, "Come to me all of you who are worked and overburdened and I will provide you rest." Mission Christian Elim. Pablo Hernandez is the local pastor.
The Christian Elim Mission International is a Pentecostal megachurch based in San Salvador, El Salvador. The church was founded in 1977. There are several branches in the United States, with the above congregation in Greensboro and a congregation in Burlington. With the large Hispanic population in the state, it stands to reason there would be a need for churches offering services in Spanish and catering to the needs of our residents from Spanish speaking countries. Have a happy Sunday and, if you attend a church, may you be spiritually fulfilled, regardless of the language of the service... or perhaps, better said, BECAUSE of the language of the service.
It's occasionally done here too.
